THE SONS OF MANASSEH
Sai, Max and Keo have been singing individually all of their lives but began singing as a group after joining a talent search at the Long Beach Mai Tai’s Battle of the bands in Los Angeles, CA. After a three week process, these very talented siblings won and a band was born, the SONS of MANASSEH. Since then the group has performed in Hawaii, Utah, Idaho, Las Vegas. The Sons recent trip to Miami has been coined as their greatest musical memory because they had the opportunity to work with someone they grew up listening to.
The Sons of Manasseh take pride in their Samoan culture and music plays a major role in everything they do. Their love for music is rooted back to when Samoans or (Polynesians) expressed their gratitude and appreciation to GOD through dance, praising Him for their many blessings, for their culture, knowledge and most of all for the land they possessed. Sai says, “Music is a way of life for me and my brothers, it’s more than just loving to write and sing, it is inside of us, and it is our duty to share in a manner pleasing unto HIM who lent these talents to us.” The Sons love to write and take pride in writing their own songs. Their music has a smooth reggae sound inspired most of all by Bob Marley but also inspired by a wide variety of very talented artists. The Sons say that reggae is their first love because it always has a righteous and positive vibe, “The music moves you even if you don’t want to dance” and in a world filled with corruption and strife, ”reggae music offers a message of comfort and also encourages all to be aware.”
“We write songs that matter, our biggest hope is that our listeners can live what we are writing and relate to what we are singing.”
